Aamir Khan was born on March 14, 1965, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. His zodiac sign is Pisces and his ethnicity is Indian. His parents were Tahir Hussain and Zeenat Hussain. He has four siblings: Faisal Khan, Nikhat Khan, Farhat Khan, and a younger sibling. Aamir had an early interest in acting and was exposed to the film industry at an early age due to his father's involvement in it.

In 1973, Aamir made his acting debut as a child artist in the Hindi movie Yaadon Ki Baaraat. In 1984 he appeared in the Hindi film Holi directed by his uncle Nasir Hussain which marked his adult debut. After that he acted in several movies including Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), Dil (1990), Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992), Andaz Apna Apna(1994). He gained recognition for portraying complex characters in these films.

Aamir won numerous awards for his performances including Best Actor Awards at Filmfare for Dil Chahta Hai (2001) and Rang De Basanti (2006). He also received a National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment for Lagaan (2001). He then went on to establish himself as one of the leading actors in Bollywood with critically acclaimed performances in movies such as Ghajini (2008) and 3 Idiots (2009).

In 2012, Aamir made his directorial debut with Talaash starring himself alongside Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The movie proved to be a commercial success and earned him several nominations at various award shows. In 2014 he starred alongside Anushka Sharma in PK which became the highest-grossing Indian film of all time at that point. Since then he has appeared in several other films including Dangal (2016) and Thugs of Hindostan (2018).
