Aaron Taylor-Johnson was born on June 13, 1990, in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England. His full name is Aaron Perry Johnson and he has a younger sister named Gemma. His mother's name is Sarah and his father's name is Robert Johnson. He attended the Jacksons Lane Theatre School when he was twelve years old and later went to the Fine Arts College in Hampstead.

Taylor-Johnson made his acting debut in 2004 with the film “Tom Brown’s Schooldays” at age 14. In 2006, he appeared in “The Illusionist” alongside Edward Norton and Jessica Biel. In 2008, Taylor-Johnson starred in “ Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging” which became a cult classic amongst teenage girls around the world. In 2010, he starred opposite Chloe Moretz in “Kick-Ass” and won an Empire Award for Best Newcomer for his performance. That same year, he also starred alongside Kristen Stewart in “The Runaways” and earned a Young Hollywood Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance.

In 2012, Taylor-Johnson teamed up with director Sam Taylor-Wood to make the romantic drama “Nowhere Boy” about John Lennon's early life which earned him an Evening Standard British Film Awards nomination for Best Actor. In 2014, he played Quicksilver in the blockbuster hit movie “X-Men: Days of Future Past” where he received critical acclaim for his portrayal of the character. He then reprised his role as Quicksilver in 2016 sequel “X-Men: Apocalypse” and starred alongside Elizabeth Olsen in the Godzilla reboot that same year.

In 2018, Taylor-Johnson starred alongside Blake Lively in the thriller movie A Simple Favor and also lent his voice to Disney's animated movie Ralph Breaks The Internet. He went on to star as John Reid/The Lone Ranger opposite Armie Hammer in 2019's "The Lone Ranger" before playing Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver again in 2020's "Avengers: Endgame".
