Adam Patrick DeVine was born on November 7, 1983, in Waterloo, Iowa. He is an American actor and comedian who is best known for his roles in the television series Workaholics, Pitch Perfect, and Modern Family. He has also had several film roles including Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and Game Over, Man!. 

DeVine attended Millard South High School in Omaha, Nebraska. After graduating from high school he moved to Los Angeles where he attended Orange Coast College. He later transferred to the University of Iowa but dropped out after a year to pursue acting full time. 

In 2006, he made his first on-screen appearance in an episode of Reno 911! In 2007, he appeared as a contestant on Last Comic Standing and went on to appear in various other shows such as The Office and How I Met Your Mother. In 2011, DeVine began starring in the Comedy Central show Workaholics alongside Anders Holm and Blake Anderson. This show ran for seven seasons until 2017. 

DeVine has had many movie roles since 2010 when he starred in the romantic comedy When I'm with You. He played Bumper Allen in the 2012 musical comedy Pitch Perfect which spawned two sequels which were released in 2015 and 2017. In 2016 he starred alongside Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates as well as voicing characters for animated films such as Ice Age: Collision Course (2016) and The Angry Birds Movie 2 (2019). 

He currently stars as Andy Bailey in the ABC sitcom Modern Family which premiered its eleventh season this year (2020).
