Carla Gugino was born on August 29, 1971, in Sarasota, Florida. She is an American actress who has appeared in several notable films and television series. Her father is of Italian descent, while her mother is of English-Irish ancestry. Gugino attended La Jolla High School and then went on to study at the Professional Children’s School in New York City.

Gugino made her feature film debut in the adventure comedy “Troop Beverly Hills” (1989). She subsequently starred in a variety of independent and studio films, including "Son in Law" (1993), "Sin City" (2005), "Watchmen" (2009), and "San Andreas" (2015). On television, she has had recurring roles in "Chicago Hope," "Spin City," and "Entourage," among many other shows. In 2019, Gugino co-starred with Dwayne Johnson in the action thriller “Skyscraper” as well as playing a starring role alongside Bruce Willis and Vincent D'Onofrio in the crime drama “Death Wish."

In addition to acting, Gugino has also produced several projects through her production company, Hideaway Pictures. She has been active for years with various charitable organizations such as Project Together, which helps to bring education to children living in poverty around the world. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
