Chloe Bennet was born Chloe Wang on April 18, 1992 in Chicago, Illinois. She is of Chinese-American descent and speaks fluent Mandarin; her father is Han Chinese and her mother is Caucasian. Bennet began her acting career in 2011 with a recurring role on the Disney XD sitcom “Shake It Up”. She had guest roles on various television shows such as “Nashville”, “The Night Shift”, and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”. In 2013, she starred in the independent film “Nashville”, playing a young songwriter trying to make it in the music industry. The same year, she was cast as Daisy Johnson (codename: Skye) on Marvel's “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” which aired from 2013-2020 and made her a household name within the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom worldwide.

In 2015, she sang a duet version of "Yesterday" with Logan Paul for his YouTube channel which gained over 10 million views within its first week of release and currently has over 81 million views on YouTube as of 2019. In 2017, she starred alongside Maia Mitchell in Freeform's spy comedy series “The Bold Type” and also co-starred in the Netflix original movie “Deidra & Laney Rob A Train” that same year.
