Christina María Aguilera is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality. Referred to as the "Voice of a Generation", she is known for her four-octave vocal range, use of melismatic singing, and ability to sustain high notes.

She is an American singer, songwriter, actress and television personality who rose to fame in the late 1990s as a teen pop sensation. Her parents are Fausto Xavier Aguilera and Shelly Loraine Fidler-Aguilera. Christina is of Ecuadorian and Irish descent.
Christina attended Rochester Area School District and Marshall Middle School near her hometown before being homeschooled due to her busy tour schedule. At age 12, she made it to the quarter finals of Star Search and performed on The Mickey Mouse Club. In 1998, she released her self-titled debut album which sold over 17 million copies worldwide.
In 1999, she released her first Spanish album Mi Reflejo which also went platinum in many countries. In 2002, she released her second English album Stripped which earned five Grammy Award nominations. She then followed up with two more albums Back to Basics (2006) and Bionic (2010). Since then she has released four more studio albums Lotus (2012), Liberation (2018), Bionic (2010) and Liberation (2018).
Throughout her career, Christina has achieved numerous accolades including 5 Grammy Awards out of 33 nominations, 4 Latin Grammys out of 8 nominations, 2 World Music Awards, 3 MTV Video Music Awards from 22 nominations, 10 Billboard Music Awards from 35 nominations among others.
