Danielle Campbell was born on January 30, 1995, in Hinsdale, Illinois. She is the daughter of Georganne and John Campbell, and she has two older brothers. Danielle began her acting career at a young age with commercials and print ads. She had a few minor roles in various television shows before landing her breakout role as Jessica Olson in Disney's "Starstruck" in 2010.

In 2011, she starred alongside Selena Gomez on Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place." During that time, she also appeared on an episode of "Law & Order: SVU". In 2012, Campbell began playing Davina Claire in The CW's supernatural drama series “The Originals”. She won the 2013 Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Villain for her performance in the show.

In addition to acting, Danielle is also passionate about music and loves to sing. She released her first single called "Open Your Eyes" on iTunes in 2014. In 2015, she co-starred alongside Gregg Sulkin and Bella Thorne in the MTV horror comedy series “Faking It”. She then starred as Simone Daniels in Fox's crime drama series "Prison Break". In 2017, she returned to The CW for its new drama series “Famous In Love” as Paige Townsen.

Most recently, Danielle portrayed Sarah Allen in Netflix's thriller film "Cargo" which was released in 2018. Aside from acting, Danielle also enjoys reading books and spending time with family and friends. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her dog Mabel.
