She grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta and developed an interest in music from an early age. Her mother was a professional singer and encouraged her to pursue her love of music. She began performing in local clubs at the age of 16 and eventually moved to Los Angeles at the age of 20.

In 2007, she released her debut studio album “Pretty Mess” which featured her first hit single “Rollercoaster”. The song became a top 40 hit and earned Jayne international recognition as an artist.
