Fawad Khan was born on November 29, 1981 in Lahore, Pakistan. He is of Punjabi descent and his zodiac sign is Sagittarius. Khan graduated from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences in Lahore with a degree in computer engineering.

Khan began his career as a musician with his rock band Entity Paradigm, and later ventured into television, appearing in the drama series Jutt and Bond. In 2008, he starred opposite Mahira Khan in the Pakistani film Khuda Kay Liye, which earned him several awards including the Lux Style Award for Best Actor. In 2011, he made an appearance in the Bollywood movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and also appeared in Kapoor & Sons (2016).

In 2014, he was cast alongside Sonam Kapoor in Khoobsurat and received positive reviews for his performance. The same year he won a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Later that year he starred in the romantic comedy Humsafar which aired on Hum TV. His subsequent releases include Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016) with Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, Sadqay Tumhare (2015), Bachaana (2016) and Albela Rahi (2017).

Apart from acting, Khan is also involved in philanthropy work and has been actively involved with various charitable organisations such as Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Edhi Foundation and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
