About

Jalen Green was born on February 9, 2001, in Fresno, California. He is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the G League Ignite of the NBA G League. Green attended San Joaquin Memorial High School, where he was a five-star recruit and one of the highest-rated players in his class, according to ESPN. Green initially committed to the University of Memphis in November 2019 but decided to forego college and signed with the G League Ignite program instead.

Green began playing basketball at a very young age, picking up his passion from his father and uncles who all played the sport. As a freshman at San Joaquin Memorial High School, he quickly emerged as one of the top players in his class and earned varsity minutes playing alongside fellow future pros Evan Mobley and Isaiah Mobley. In 2018, he led San Joaquin Memorial to their first state championship title since 1965 and was named California Mr Basketball by CalHiSports.

Green has been compared to NBA superstars such as Kobe Bryant due to his incredible athleticism, ball handling skills and ability to create shots off the dribble. He is considered one of the best guards in this year's draft class and has the potential to become one of the best players in the league if he continues to develop his game.
