Jayne Mansfield was born Vera Jayne Palmer on April 19, 1933 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Herbert William Palmer and Vera Jeffrey Palmer. Her father was a public accountant and her mother was a professional dancer. She began performing as a child, appearing in local theatre productions and her family moved to Dallas, Texas when she was three years old.

    Mansfield began taking acting lessons at the age of 16, and made her first film appearance in “The Burglar” (1953). She went on to appear in numerous movies throughout the 1950s and 1960s, including “The Girl Can’t Help It” (1956), “Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?” (1957) and “Kiss Them for Me” (1957). In addition to her film career, she also posed for Playboy magazine, released two albums, and starred in several television series.

Mansfield died tragically in a car accident on June 29, 1967 at the age of 34. She left behind five children from three marriages: Mariska Hargitay (from her marriage to Mickey Hargitay), Zoltan Hargitay and Jayne Marie Mansfield (from her marriage to Matt Cimber), Tony Cimber (from her marriage to Paul Mansfield) and Antonio Raphael Cimber (from her relationship with Sam Brody).
