About

Jayson Christopher Tatum was born on March 3, 1998, in St. Louis, Missouri. His zodiac sign is Pisces, and his ethnicity is African-American. He is the son of Brandy Cole and Justin Tatum. Tatum attended Chaminade College Preparatory School in St. Louis for his freshman year before transferring to Duke University for his sophomore year.

He started playing basketball at a very young age and eventually joined an AAU team when he was in eighth grade. During this time, he began to garner attention from college scouts as one of the top prospects in the country. He declared for the 2017 N.B.A Draft after just one season at Duke, where he averaged 16 points per game and 7 rebounds per game in 35 games played. He was selected third overall by the Boston Celtics in the draft and became an immediate starter with them during his rookie season. In 2018-19, he was named to the All-Rookie Second Team and led the Celtics to their fourth consecutive Eastern Conference Finals appearance that same season.

In 2020, Tatum earned his first All-Star selection and became the youngest Celtics player to score 50 points or more in a game since Larry Bird did it in 1985–86 season against the San Antonio Spurs in January 2020. He was also named to his first All-NBA team with a Third Team selection that year as well.
