Kim Seok-jin, also known professionally as Jin, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and member of the South Korean boy band BTS. Kim has co-written and released three solo tracks with BTS: "Awake" in 2016, "Epiphany" in 2018, and "Moon" in 2020, all of which have charted on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart.

Jin (Kim Seok-jin) is a South Korean singer, songwriter and actor born on December 4, 1992 in Gwacheon, South Korea. He is the oldest member of the popular K-pop boy band BTS. Jin was an avid athlete growing up, playing soccer, basketball and running track. However, his passion for music eventually won out when he auditioned for Big Hit Entertainment in 2010 and joined BTS in 2011.
Jin began his career as a vocalist for BTS but has since become one of the group's main rappers as well. His deep vocals have been noted by critics and fans alike, as well as his stage presence and acting skills. He has also composed songs such as "Awake" and "Epiphany" which featured on BTS albums Love Yourself: Answer and Map of the Soul: Persona respectively. In addition to music, Jin has appeared in television shows such as Problematic Men and had roles in movies such as Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016).
Outside of BTS, Jin released a solo single titled "Tonight" in October 2018, with all proceeds going towards providing scholarships to underprivileged students. His philanthropic activities have earned him recognition from various organisations such as United Nations Human Rights Council who appointed him a 'Global Advocate' in 2019. As part of this role he works to promote equal rights worldwide.
