About

John Wall was born on September 6, 1990, in Raleigh, North Carolina. His zodiac sign is Virgo and his ethnicity is African-American. He attended Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh and was named to the All-State team twice during his high school career. Wall played college basketball at the University of Kentucky from 2009-10, becoming one of the best freshmen in NCAA history and leading the Wildcats to the Elite Eight.

After leaving Kentucky, Wall was selected first overall by the Washington Wizards in the 2010 NBA Draft. During his first season with the Wizards, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and earned an All-Star selection in his third season. In 2014, he signed a five-year contract extension with the Wizards worth $80 million. The same year he also signed an endorsement deal with Adidas worth $25 million over seven years.

Wall has been selected as an All-Star five times since entering the league (2014–18) and led Washington to four consecutive playoff appearances from 2014–17. The 2018–19 season saw him suffer a ruptured Achilles tendon that sidelined him for most of the year, but he returned to action midway through 2019–20 and helped lead Washington to its first division title since 1978–79. In 2020–21, Wall appeared in all 72 regular-season contests for Washington and set career highs in points per game (20.7) and assists per game (9.0).
