Tank, born Durrell Babbs on January 1, 1976, is an American R&B singer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He got his start in the music industry as a member of the group D-Town, which released one album in 1997. Tank then began his solo career with the release of his self-titled debut album in 2001. The album featured guest vocals from Destiny’s Child and was met with critical acclaim and commercial success.

Tank's second album, ‘One Man’ was released in 2003 and included production from Timbaland and Pharrell Williams. It debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned several hit singles such as "Maybe I Deserve" and "Please Don't Go". His third album, Sex Love & Pain was released in 2007 and featured collaborations with rappers Ludacris, T.I., & Snoop Dogg. It also debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 chart and earned Tank two Grammy nominations for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for "Please Don't Go" and Best Contemporary R&B Album for Sex Love & Pain.

Tank has continued to release music over the years including 2012's This Is How I Feel which reached #2 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. His most recent album Stronger was released in 2016 and topped both the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart as well as the iTunes Top R&B Albums chart when it debuted. Tank has also ventured into acting with roles in films like Lottery Ticket (2010) alongside Bow Wow, Baggage Claim (2013), Hustle & Flow (2005), and Pride (2007).
