Alvin Mentian Kamara is an American football running back for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. He played college football at Tennessee after transferring from Hutchinson Community College and was drafted by the Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Alvin Mentian Kamara was born on July 25, 1995 in Norcross, Georgia. His zodiac sign is Leo and his ethnicity is African-American. He is the son of Adama Kamara and Hezekiah Kamara, and he has five siblings.
Kamara grew up playing football as a child and attended Norcross High School where he played football and ran track. During his senior season, he rushed for 1,300 yards with 19 touchdowns on 172 attempts earning him second team All-State honours. In college, he first attended Hutchinson Community College before transferring to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he had an impressive career rushing for 1,294 yards with 16 touchdowns on 210 attempts.
After college, Kamara declared for the 2017 NFL Draft and was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the third round as the 67th overall pick. In his rookie season, he became the first player in NFL history to record 500+ yards from scrimmage in each of his first three seasons. He also earned a Pro Bowl Selection as well as becoming an All-Pro selection after finishing fourth in total yards from scrimmage that year with 1,554 yards on 194 carries with 14 touchdowns.
In 2019, Kamara signed a 5-year extension with the Saints worth $75 million making him one of the highest paid running backs in the league. He continued to thrive during this season leading all running backs with 81 receptions finishing second in both rushing touchdowns (15) and total touchdowns (19).
Kamara is considered one of the most dynamic players in the NFL today due to his ability to play multiple positions such as running back, wide receiver, return specialist and even quarterback when needed. He also has established himself as one of the most versatile rushers in NFL history with over 4500+ combined yards through both rushing and receiving since entering into the league in 2017.
