Caitlyn Jenner was born William Bruce Jenner on October 28, 1949, in Mount Kisco, New York. She is an American retired Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete, television personality, and public speaker. Her parents were Esther Ruth (née McGuire) and William Hugh Jenner. She was the middle child of three children in her family; she has one older sister named Pam and a younger brother named Burt. 

    Jenner attended Sleepy Hollow High School in Sleepy Hollow, New York, for her freshman and sophomore years before transferring to Newtown High School in Newtown, Connecticut. She graduated from there in 1968. 

Jenner began training as a decathlete when she was in high school. In 1972, she became the first American woman to win the Olympic gold medal for decathlon at the Summer Olympics held in Munich, West Germany. After retiring from sports competition in 1976, Jenner pursued a career in television appearing on various game shows such as "The Dating Game" and "CHiPS". 

In 2015, Caitlyn announced that she is transgender and identified as female during an interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC's 20/20 show. Since then she has become a prominent voice for the transgender community and appeared on several TV shows including "I Am Cait" which aired from July 2015 to March 2016. She also wrote an autobiography called The Secrets of My Life which was released in 2017.
