Debby Ryan was born on May 13, 1993 in Huntsville, Alabama. She is an American actress and singer who is best known for her role as Jessie Prescott in the Disney Channel Original Series "Jessie". Her parents are John and Missy Ryan and she has two older brothers. She began acting at the age of seven, taking classes at the local theater school.

She made her professional debut in 2006, appearing in a series of commercials for companies such as Bratz dolls and Barbie dolls. In 2007, she got her first television role as a guest star on the show "Barney & Friends". From 2008-2011, she had roles in various shows such as "The Suite Life on Deck" and "Wizards of Waverly Place". In 2011, she starred in her own Disney Channel Original Movie "16 Wishes", which quickly became one of the most watched cable television movies of all time.

In 2011, she also starred in the Disney Channel series "Jessie" which ran for four seasons until 2015. During this time she also made appearances in several other shows such as "Glee" and "Girl Meets World". In 2016, she co-starred with Anne Hathaway in the movie "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement". In 2017, she appeared in Netflix's original show "Insatiable" and also released an EP entitled "One".

Debby Ryan continues to act and pursue singing while also advocating for social causes such as feminism and mental health awareness.
