Jesy Nelson was born on June 14, 1991 in Romford, England. She is an English singer and songwriter best known as a former member of the girl group Little Mix.

Nelson attended Sylvia Young Theatre School and began her career in 2008 when she auditioned for the eighth series of The X Factor UK, where she met fellow bandmates Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall. Little Mix became the first group to win The X Factor UK and Nelson's success with the band led to her being named "the most influential person under 30" by Glamour magazine in 2019.

After nine years together, Little Mix announced that Nelson had decided to leave the group in December 2020. Following her departure from Little Mix, Nelson released her debut solo single "Sweet Melody" in November 2020 which debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart. In 2021, she released her second solo single "Goodbye".

Nelson has also acted on television shows such as Waterloo Road and starred in documentaries Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out (2019) and Jesy Nelson: My Story (2021). Additionally, she has appeared on various other reality TV shows such as Celebrity Juice and Lip Sync Battle UK.
