Kirstie Louise Alley was an American actress. Her breakout role was as Rebecca Howe in the NBC sitcom Cheers, for which she received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe in 1991. From 1997 to 2000, she starred as the lead in the sitcom Veronica's Closet, earning additional Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

Kirstie Louise Alley was born on January 12, 1951, in Wichita, Kansas. Her zodiac sign is Capricorn and her ethnicity is English, German and Scottish. She is the daughter of Robert Deal Alley and Lillian Mickie (Frost) and has two siblings, Craig and Colette. Kirstie attended Wichita Southeast High School where she was a cheerleader and an honor student.

Alley started her career when she moved to Los Angeles at the age of 19 to pursue an acting career. In 1982, she landed the role of Saavik in the movie “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” which led to her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress.  She starred in the hit TV show “Cheers” from 1987-1993 as Rebecca Howe which earned her two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe nominations. After “Cheers” ended in 1993, she went on to star in other movies such as Look Who's Talking Now (1993), For Richer or Poorer (1997), Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) and many more.

In 2004, Alley joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars which helped her make a comeback after facing some personal struggles with weight gain in recent years. She also became a spokesperson for Jenny Craig Inc., a weight management program. In 2010, she returned as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars but was eliminated during week eight of competition. She appeared on Oprah Winfrey Show promoting her book “The Art of Men: I Prefer Mine al Dente” which was released in 2011.

Alley continues to act and recently starred in indie films such as The Mummy An' The Armadillo (2016) alongside David Arquette and Jennifer Tilly; No Pay, Nudity (2016); Summer Break (2017); and A Deadly Adoption (2015).
