Adam Noah Levine is an American singer and songwriter. He serves as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the pop rock band Maroon 5. Levine began his musical career in 1994 with the band Kara's Flowers, of which he was the lead vocalist and lead guitarist.

Adam Noah Levine was born on March 18, 1979 in Los Angeles, California. He is an American singer-songwriter, musician, multi-instrumentalist and actor. His parents are Fredric Levine and Patsy Levine, both of whom were teachers. He has one brother named Michael who is also a singer-songwriter. Adam attended Brentwood School where he began his musical career by playing the guitar at age 16.
In 1998, Levine formed his first band called Kara's Flowers which was signed to Reprise Records and released their debut album The Fourth World in 1997 but it failed to make an impact commercially. After the release of the album, the band broke up and Levine went on to study at Five Towns College in Dix Hills, New York where he developed an interest in Jazz music.
In 2001, Levine reformed Kara's Flowers as Maroon 5 with guitarist Jesse Carmichael, bassist Mickey Madden and drummer Ryan Dusick. Their debut album Songs About Jane (2002) achieved mainstream success with singles like "Harder to Breathe" and "This Love". They earned their first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2004 and won Best Pop Performance By a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 2005 Grammy Awards for their single "This Love".
The group has since released five more studio albums - It Won't Be Soon Before Long (2007), Hands All Over (2010), Overexposed (2012), V (2014) and Red Pill Blues (2017). Throughout their career they have sold over 20 million albums worldwide and have had nine top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as well as three number one singles - "Makes Me Wonder", "Moves Like Jagger" featuring Christina Aguilera and "One More Night".
Levine has also appeared on television shows such as Comedy Central's Roast of James Franco, NBC's The Voice as a coach from 2011 to 2019 and Fox's American Idol as a mentor for season 15. In 2013 he released his debut solo single “Lost Stars” which was featured in the film Begin Again.
