Adam Paul Scott is an American actor, comedian, and producer. He is known for his role as Ben Wyatt in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation for which he was twice nominated for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.
Adam Scott was born on April 3, 1973 in Santa Cruz, California. He is the son of Anne and Douglas Scott, a teacher. His zodiac sign is Aries and his ethnicity is Caucasian. He has two siblings, Shannon and David. Scott attended Harbor High School in Santa Cruz, and went on to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California.
Scott began acting professionally when he was 17 years old with a role on the television drama ‘Silk Stalkings’ in 1990. After appearing on several shows such as 'Boy Meets World' and 'Party of Five', he landed his breakthrough role as Henry Pollard in the NBC comedy series 'Parks and Recreation'. He was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for this role. In 2012, he starred alongside Kristen Bell in the romantic comedy film 'Hit & Run'.
He also had roles in films such as 'Step Brothers' (2008), 'The Aviator' (2004), and 'A.C.O.D.' (2013). In addition to film roles, Scott has also been seen on many TV shows such as the HBO comedy series 'Tell Me You Love Me' (2007-2008), CBS's legal drama 'The Good Wife' (2009-2016) and Fox's sitcom 'Ben and Kate' (2012-2013).
In 2015, Scott joined the cast of FX's horror anthology series ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ as Matt Miller. Since then he has appeared on various other TV shows like Netflix’s ‘Big Mouth’, ABC’s ‘Modern Family’ and HBO’s ‘Big Little Lies’ - which earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie in 2017. Most recently he played the lead role of Ben Wyatt in NBC's hit show ‘The Good Place’ from 2016 to 2020.
