Alec Baldwin is an American actor, comedian, and producer. He was born in Amityville, New York on April 3, 1958. His mother was Carol Newcomb and his father Alexander Rae Baldwin Jr. was a high school teacher. He has three older brothers Stephen, William and Daniel. 

    Baldwin attended George Washington University for two years before transferring to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. After graduating from NYU in 1994 he began his acting career with roles on stage in the off-Broadway productions "CQ/CX" and "The Hostage". He made his film debut in 1987’s Forever, Lulu and went on to appear in other films such as Working Girl (1988) and Beetlejuice (1988). 

    In 1989, Baldwin landed his breakthrough role as Jack Ryan in The Hunt for Red October which earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Since then he has appeared in several other movies including Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), Malice (1993), The Cooler (2003), The Departed (2006) and It's Complicated (2009). 

    In addition to his movie roles, Baldwin has had recurring roles on TV shows such as 30 Rock (2006-2013), Saturday Night Live (1990-present), Blue Bloods (2010-present) and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999-present). For his portrayal of Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock he won three Emmy awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. He also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2011.
