Brandon Anderson Paak was born on February 8, 1986, in Oxnard, California. His zodiac sign is Aquarius, and his ethnicity is African-American. He grew up in a musical family; his father was a church organist and his mother sang in the church choir. He was raised by a single mother who worked multiple jobs to make ends meet, but she always found time for music.

At age 14, Paak started playing drums at church and later formed an R&B trio with his friends called 'Brass Roots'. After high school he attended college for graphic design and eventually moved to Los Angeles where he began producing hip-hop beats. In 2012 he released the album 'O.B.E' under the name Breezy Lovejoy, which got him some attention from major labels.

In 2014, Paak released his first solo album 'Venice', and it quickly gained him national recognition as an artist in his own right. Since then he has released three more albums - 'Malibu' (2016), 'Oxnard' (2018) and 'Ventura' (2019). His songs have been featured on TV shows like Empire and Grey's Anatomy, as well as movies such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and Creed II.

Paak has won two Grammys – Best Urban Contemporary Album for Malibu (2017) and Best Rap Performance for "Bubblin" (2019). He has been nominated for numerous other awards including American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, Soul Train Awards amongst others.
