Andrew Joseph Cohen is an American radio and television talk show host, producer, and writer. Cohen is the host and executive producer of Bravo's late night talk show, Watch What Happens Live! He also has a pop culture channel on Sirius XM named Radio Andy.
Andy Cohen was born on June 2, 1968 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is an American radio and television talk show host, producer, and writer. He attended Clayton High School in his native St. Louis before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University in 1990.
Cohen began his career at CBS News as an intern in the late 1980s and later became the senior producer of The Early Show in 2002. In 2005 he was hired by Bravo as Vice President of Original Programming and Development where he developed shows such as Top Chef, Project Runway, and The Real Housewives franchise. In 2009 he launched his own show Watch What Happens: Live which has become a popular nightly talk show hosted by Cohen himself.
In 2011 he became Executive Vice President of Development and Talent for the Bravo network. In 2013 he released a memoir titled Most Talkative which discussed his time working at CBS as well as his personal life including his coming out story. That same year he also published another book entitled The Andy Cohen Diaries which chronicled a year in his life while hosting WWHL.
In 2016 Cohen became the first openly gay host of a late night talk show when he took over Late Night with Andy Cohen from former host James Corden who left to pursue work on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Cohen currently hosts both WWHL and Late Night with Andy Cohen on Bravo and NBC respectively, making him one of the few people to have simultaneous shows on two different networks.
