Andy Samberg is an American comedian, actor, musician, writer, and producer. Samberg is a member of the comedy music group The Lonely Island alongside childhood friends Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone.
Andy Samberg was born on August 18th, 1978 in Berkeley, California. He is an American actor, comedian, writer and musician. He studied experimental theater at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for three years until he graduated in 2000.
Samberg started his career on Saturday Night Live in 2005 as a featured player and enjoyed great success there over the next seven years. During this time, he gained recognition for his comedic sketches such as Lazy Sunday, Dick in a Box and Jizz in My Pants. In 2012, he left SNL to pursue other projects and went on to star in several films including Hot Rod (2007), I Love You Man (2009) and That’s My Boy (2012). He also starred in the Fox sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine which ran from 2013 to 2020.
Samberg has won Emmy Awards for his work on SNL, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and the HBO comedy special 7 Days in Hell. He has also won an MTV Movie Award for Best Comedic Performance and two Grammy Awards for Outstanding Music & Comedy Albums with The Lonely Island.
In addition to acting, Samberg has released music albums with The Lonely Island such as Incredibad (2009) and Turtleneck & Chain (2011). He is also part of a comedy group called The Awesomes that created a Hulu animated series of the same name which ran from 2013-2015.
