Born Rakim Mayers in New York City in 1988, A$AP Rocky began his musical career at the age of nine when he started rapping on mixtapes and performing in local clubs. His career really took off when he released his first mixtape Live.Love.A$AP in 2011, which gained him critical acclaim and millions of fans worldwide. Since then, he's gone on to become one of the most successful rappers of all time, with over 10 million copies sold across 6 studio albums including LongLiveA$AP (2013), At.Long.Last.A$AP (2015) and Testing (2018). He has been nominated for various awards including six Grammy Awards and five MTV Video Music Awards, winning two MTV Video Music Awards for Best Hip-Hop Video in 2014 and 2019 respectively. Beyond music, A$AP Rocky is also known for appearing in several films such as Dope (2015) and Awakenings (2019) and is recognized as a fashion icon due to his frequent collaborations with top designers such as Raf Simons and Under Armour. He has also worked with various charities like Stomp Out Bullying to help spread awareness about the importance of anti-bullying initiatives across the globe.
