August Anthony Alsina Jr. was born on September 3, 1992, in New Orleans, Louisiana. His zodiac sign is Virgo, and his ethnicity is African-American. He was raised by his mother, Shonta Alsina, and his father left the family when he was young. Alsina attended Edna Karr High School but dropped out during his sophomore year due to legal issues stemming from a fight with another student.

Alsina has been nominated for several awards throughout his career including five BET Awards nominations as well as two Grammy Award nominations for Best R&B Performance for “No Love” and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “I Luv This Shit” featuring Trinidad James.
