Bang Chan, born Christopher Bang, is a South Korean singer-songwriter and leader of the K-pop band Stray Kids. He was born on October 3, 1997, in Sydney, Australia, to a Korean mother and an Australian father. He is the oldest member of Stray Kids and is known for being the group's main songwriter and leader.

Bang Chan moved to South Korea when he was 11-years-old and attended an international school in Seoul. He graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School in 2016. He then went on to study music composition at Dankook University.

In 2017, Bang Chan auditioned for JYP Entertainment’s singing competition show “Stray Kids” where he became one of nine members chosen to form the group. Since then, he has been credited as the main songwriter for several of their songs including “Grow Up” and “MIROH” which won awards at the 2019 Melon Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards respectively.

Outside of his work with Stray Kids, Bang Chan has released solo singles such as “Aurora” and “My Universe” and has collaborated with other artists such as SHINee's Taemin and EXO's Baekhyun. In 2020, he released his own EP titled "Spotlight".

In addition to music, Bang Chan has also taken part in acting roles including playing a supporting role in JTBC's drama series "Hospital Playlist" in 2020.
