Booba, also known as B2OBA and Elie Yaffa, was born on December 9th, 1976 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. He is of Senegalese descent and his parents are Sénégalais immigrants. Booba began his career as a rapper in 1994, when he was just 18 years old. He released his debut album Temps Mort in 2002 and it was an immediate success with the French public.

Booba's music is heavily influenced by American rap and hip hop artists such as Dr. Dre and Tupac Shakur. His lyrics often contain references to street life, money and politics, as well as other topics related to African culture and history. His albums have achieved considerable commercial success both in France and internationally, with several reaching the Top 10 on the French Albums Chart.

In addition to his musical career, Booba has also been involved in several business ventures. He co-founded the fashion label Ünkut in 2009 and launched a line of headphones called O'Boom in 2013. He also runs his own record label Tallac Records which he established in 2003. As of 2020, he has released eight studio albums, four mixtapes and two collaborative albums with Ali all under the name Booba..
