Britney Jean Spears was born on December 2, 1981, in McComb, Mississippi. She is the daughter of Lynne Irene Bridges and James Parnell Spears, and she has an older brother named Bryan. At the age of three, Britney started attending dance lessons and when she was eight, she auditioned for The Mickey Mouse Club and got selected. That same year, her family moved to Kentwood, Louisiana. In 1997, she released her first album titled “Baby One More Time” which became a huge hit and reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart. 

Following this success, Spears released several more albums such as “Oops!…I Did It Again” (2000), “Britney” (2001), “In The Zone” (2003), “Blackout” (2007) and “Femme Fatale” (2011). She also embarked on multiple tours throughout her career, selling out arenas all over the world. Her single "Toxic" won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2005. 

In 2008, Spears made headlines due to a series of personal issues that led to her hospitalization at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She later made a comeback with the release of her sixth studio album "Circus" which earned her another Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2009. In 2011, she began appearing as a judge on The X Factor USA but left after one season to focus on other projects. 

In 2013, Spears released her eighth studio album “Britney Jean” which was followed by four more albums: “Glory” (2016), “B9” (2018), “Domination” (2019) and most recently “Mood Ring” (2020). Throughout her career, Britney has sold more than 100 million records worldwide making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
