Christine Marie Flores, better known as Christina Milian, is an American actress and singer. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, but raised in Maryland, she signed a contract with Murder Inc. Records at the age of 19.
Christina Milian was born on September 26, 1981, in Jersey City, New Jersey. She is of Cuban descent and was raised in Waldorf, Maryland. Milian began her career as an actress when she was seven years old. She is best known for her roles in Love Don't Cost a Thing (2003) and Be Cool (2005).
In 1999, Milian released her first single, "AM to PM," which peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and reached the top 10 in several European countries. Her debut album, Christina Milian, followed soon after and included hit singles such as "When You Look at Me" and "Dip It Low." The album went double platinum in the United States and sold over four million copies worldwide.
Milian's second album, It's About Time (2004), featured collaborations with Snoop Dogg and Fabolous. Although the album didn't match the success of its predecessor, it still spawned two Top 40 singles: "Dip It Low" and "Whatever U Want." In 2006, Milian released So Amazin', which featured collaborations with Young Jeezy and Three 6 Mafia.
Milian has been nominated for several awards throughout her career, including three Grammy Awards in 2005 for Best R&B Song ("Dip It Low") and Best Dance Recording ("Whatever U Want"). In 2009 she won a BMI Pop Music Award for co-writing the song "Say OK." In addition to music and acting, she has launched several clothing lines and fragrances.
