Claire Rhiannon Holt is an Australian actress born on June 11, 1988 in Brisbane, Australia. She is of Irish and German descent. Her parents are John and Ann Holt. At a young age, she moved to the Gold Coast with her family where she attended high school at St Hilda’s School. After graduating from high school, Claire attended the University of Queensland for a year before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her career in acting.
Claire made her television debut in 2006 when she was cast as Emma Gilbert on the popular Australian TV show “H2O: Just Add Water”. After appearing in several episodes of the show, Claire went on to appear in various other TV shows and movies such as “Mean Girls 2” (2011), “Pretty Little Liars” (2012-2016) and “The Originals” (2013-2016). In 2013, she won a Teen Choice Award for her role in “Pretty Little Liars”.
In 2016, Claire took part in the ABC series “The Bachelor Australia” where she was one of the contestants vying for the affections of Richie Strahan. Later that year, she also became an ambassador for Pantene Australia and appeared in their campaign videos. In 2017, Claire began starring in the Freeform drama series “Famous In Love” which ran until 2018.
Currently, Claire is living in Los Angeles with her husband Matthew Kaplan who she married in April 2018. The couple welcomed their first child together—a son named James—in December 2019.
