Dolores Mary Eileen O'Riordan was born on September 6, 1971, in Limerick, Ireland. She was the youngest of seven children and the daughter of Terence and Eileen O’Riordan. Dolores attended Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ, a Catholic school in Limerick city. 

O’Riordan started her music career at age 18 when she joined the rock band The Cranberries as their lead singer in 1989. In 1993, The Cranberries released their debut album called “Everybody Else Is Doing It So Why Can’t We” which became an instant success and achieved multi-platinum status around the world. After releasing a few more successful albums with The Cranberries, she decided to pursue a solo career in 2003 and released her first solo album “Are You Listening?” which peaked at number 1 on Irish Albums Chart. In addition to her musical career, O’Riordan also acted in several films including Man on the Train (2002) and Click (2006). 

In 2014, she reunited with The Cranberries for an acoustic tour and released the band's sixth studio album “Something Else” in 2017. Sadly, Dolores O'Riordan passed away unexpectedly on January 15th 2018 due to drowning caused by alcohol intoxication. She will always be remembered as one of the most influential female rock singers of all time.
