About

Aubrey Drake Graham, better known as Drake, was born on October 24th, 1986 in Toronto, Ontario. He is of Jewish and African-Canadian descent. His father, Dennis Graham, is an African-American from Memphis and his mother, Sandi Graham (née Sher), is Canadian-Jewish. He has two siblings; a brother named Adonis and a half-brother named Stephen.

Drake first gained recognition for his role as Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation in the early 2000s. He began releasing rap mixtapes in 2006 under the pseudonym "Drake", which soon led to a recording contract with Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment record label. In 2010 he released his debut studio album Thank Me Later featuring the singles "Find Your Love" and "Forever".

In 2011 Drake released his second studio album Take Care which featured the chart topping single "Headlines" and earned him two Grammy Awards. He went on to release Nothing Was the Same (2013), Views (2016), Scorpion (2018) and Dark Lane Demo Tapes (2020). All four albums have been certified platinum by the RIAA for selling over one million copies each.
