Emmanuelle Grey Rossum is an American actress, director, and singer. She is known for her portrayal of Fiona Gallagher in the television series Shameless. Since the mid-2010s, she has also directed and produced television, including the 2022 Peacock series Angelyne in which she also stars.

Emmanuelle Grey Rossum was born on September 12th, 1986 in New York City. She is of Russian Jewish descent and was raised by her single mother, Cheryl, who worked as an investment banker. Rossum began taking singing lessons at the age of seven, and made her professional debut at Carnegie Hall when she was nine years old. She also attended Spence School and the Collegiate School in Manhattan.

Rossum's career began when she landed the role of Claudia in The Phantom of the Opera (2004). She received two Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal of Christine Daae, and won a Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Young Actress. She went on to appear in Poseidon (2006), Dragonball: Evolution (2009), Dare (2009), Beautiful Creatures (2013), You're Not You (2014), Before I Disappear (2014) and Comet (2014).

In 2007, Rossum starred in the hit TV show Shameless as Fiona Gallagher alongside William H. Macy, earning her Screen Actors Guild Award nominations each year from 2011-2016. In 2016, Rossum became the first actress to enter into an equal pay agreement with Warner Brothers Television for her role in Shameless.

In addition to acting, Rossum is an accomplished vocalist and has released three studio albums—Inside Out (2007), Sentimental Journey (2013) and Universal Music Classics: Emmy Rossum (2017).
