Eva Jacqueline Longoria was born on March 15, 1975 in Corpus Christie, Texas. She is the youngest of four daughters to her parents Enrique and Ella Longoria. She has Mexican-American heritage and attended Roy Miller High School where she was voted “Most Beautiful” by her classmates. After high school, she attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville where she earned a degree in Kinesiology.

Longoria began her career working as a model for print ads and television commercials before landing a role in the TV series "The Young and the Restless." She achieved major fame when she joined the cast of the hit show "Desperate Housewives" playing Gabrielle Solis from 2004 to 2012. Her performance earned her several awards and nominations including Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series and two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

In addition to acting, Longoria has also become involved in politics and advocacy work, focusing mainly on immigration reform, education, and women's rights. In 2013 she founded The Eva Longoria Foundation which aims to empower Latinas through education and entrepreneurship. She is also the executive producer of Devious Maids which aired on Lifetime from 2013 to 2016.
