Halle Lynn Bailey is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is best known for being one half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle with her sister Chlöe Bailey, together earning five Grammy Award nominations since 2018.
Halle Bailey was born on March 27, 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia. She and her sister Chloe, who is also a singer, grew up in an artistic family that encouraged their musical pursuits. Halle began singing in church choirs and performing with her sister at the age of 8. She has cited Beyonce and Brandy as major influences on her musical style.
Halle and Chloe formed the R&B duo Chloe x Halle in 2012. They rose to fame after they posted covers of popular songs to YouTube, which caught the attention of Beyoncé who signed them to her record label Parkwood Entertainment. In 2017 they released their debut EP titled "Sugar Symphony", which reached #1 on Billboard's Top R&B Albums chart.
In 2018, the sisters starred in Freeform's original series Grown-ish alongside Yara Shahidi, playing the role of track stars Sky & Jazz Forster. The show's soundtrack features several tracks from their EP "The Kids Are Alright". That same year, Halle made history when she was cast as Ariel for Disney's live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid.
In 2019, she released her solo single "Let Me Go" and later that year released her first full length album "Ungodly Hour". The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart and hit #2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Halle is an acclaimed artist whose success continues to grow with each release she puts out into the world.
