Hayley Kiyoko Alcroft, born April 3, 1991 in Los Angeles, California, is an American singer-songwriter, actress and dancer. Her parents are of Japanese and Caucasian descent. She has two siblings; a brother named Colton and a sister named Jordan. Kiyoko began her career as an actress at the age of five when she appeared in a commercial for Easy-Bake Oven. After that, she had roles in television shows such as “CSI: NY” and “The O.C."

Kiyoko began taking dance lessons at the age of eight and was accepted into the prestigious Inland Pacific Ballet Academy at the age of 12. She went on to become a competitive jazz dancer and even trained with the Los Angeles Lakers Girl Dance Team for some time. Kiyoko then began training as a singer at 15 when her family noticed her vocal talent. 

At 18 years old, she signed with Atlantic Records and released several EPs between 2011 and 2015 that showcased elements of pop, R&B, soul and electronic music. In 2018 she released her debut album titled 'Expectations'. The lead single from the album "Curious" gained major success which resulted in Kiyoko being dubbed “Lesbian Jesus” by fans due to her LGBTQ+ advocacy. 

In addition to music, Kiyoko also acts both on stage and screen as well as directs music videos for herself as well as other artists like Kehlani and Allie X. She has also been featured in campaigns for Adidas Originals and Ray-Ban sunglasses.
