Chris Bridges, better known by his stage name Ludacris, was born on September 11, 1977 in Champaign, Illinois. He is an American rapper, singer-songwriter and actor. He is the founder of Disturbing tha Peace, an imprint distributed by Def Jam Recordings. 

Ludacris began his career as a radio personality at Atlanta's Hot 97.5 and eventually made his way into the rap game with a couple of independent releases before signing to Def Jam South in 2000. His debut album Back for the First Time was released in October 2000 and went on to sell over four million copies worldwide. It spawned the hit singles "What's Your Fantasy," "Southern Hospitality," and "Area Codes." 

In 2001, Ludacris won a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for his work on Missy Elliott's single "One Minute Man." In 2003, he released his third studio album Chicken & Beer which featured the singles "Stand Up" and "Splash Waterfalls." This album went platinum and earned him two more Grammy Awards. 

Ludacris has gone on to release six more studio albums including Word of Mouf (2001), The Red Light District (2004), Release Therapy (2006) and Battle of the Sexes (2010). On top of that he has appeared in numerous films such as Crash (2004), Gamer (2009), Fast Five (2011) and Furious 6 (2013). He even co-starred alongside Mark Wahlberg in Ted 2 (2015). In 2016, he was honored with a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame.
