Ricardo Archibald Valentine Jr., known professionally as 6lack, is an American singer-songwriter and rapper. He initially gained notable recognition following the release of his single, "Prblms", taken from his debut album, Free 6lack, which was released in November 2016.

His debut studio album Free 6lack was released the same year, which peaked on the US Billboard 200 at number 34 and featured critically acclaimed singles such as "Ex Calling" and "Bless Me".
In 2018 he released his second studio album East Atlanta Love Letter. The album debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 chart and earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album in 2020. The lead single from that project was “Nonchalant” which went certified Platinum by RIAA in 2019 with over one million sales/streams combined across digital music streaming platforms like Apple Music & Spotify.
He has also collaborated with numerous artists including Future ("East Atlanta Love Letter"), Jhene Aiko ("Maniac") & Khalid ("Seasons"). In 2021 he made history by becoming the first artist ever to perform two songs simultaneously across two different TV networks when he performed both of his new singles “Know My Rights” & “Elephant In The Room” during ABC's Good Morning America program alongside NBC's Today Show simultaneously on April 30th 2021; proving himself yet again as a trailblazer within today's contemporary music landscape!
