Aubrey Christina Plaza is an American actress, comedian, and producer. She began her career performing improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. She starred as April Ludgate on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation from 2009–2015, and featured in the FX drama series Legion.

Aubrey Christina Plaza was born on June 26, 1984 in Wilmington, Delaware. She is the daughter of Bernadette and David Plaza, and she has three older sisters. Her father is a lawyer and her mother works for the state government. She is of Puerto Rican descent on her father’s side and Irish descent on her mother’s side.

Plaza attended The Catholic Academy of Wilmington from kindergarten to sixth grade, before transferring to Ursuline Academy for middle school. She then studied film at Tisch School of the Arts at New York University for one year before dropping out to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles.

In 2006, Plaza made her television debut with a small role in an episode of “Law & Order”. Later that year, she landed a recurring role as Lenny Busker in the NBC drama series “The Black Donnelly’s”. In 2009-2010, she starred as April Ludgate in the NBC comedy series “Parks and Recreation” which earned her critical acclaim and several award nominations including a Critics' Choice Television Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. In 2012, she starred in the independent comedy film Safety Not Guaranteed which won an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay by Derek Connolly. Since then she has appeared in numerous films including Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016), Dirty Grandpa (2016), Legion (2017-2019) and Child’s Play (2019).
