Jennette Michelle Faye McCurdy is an American writer, director, podcaster, singer and former actress. McCurdy's breakthrough role as Sam Puckett in the Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly earned her various awards, including four Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

Jennette McCurdy was born on June 26th, 1992 in Long Beach, California. She is an American actress and singer who has starred in the Nickelodeon shows iCarly and Sam & Cat, as well as a range of other television series.
McCurdy began her acting career at a young age, appearing in commercials and participating in talent searches. She made her stage debut at the age of eight, performing country music at the Los Angeles County Fair. At the age of 10 she appeared in an episode of Malcolm & Eddie and then went on to star in numerous Nickelodeon TV shows such as Zoey 101, True Jackson VP and Victorious.
In 2008 McCurdy landed her first major role as Sam Puckett in the Nickelodeon show iCarly, alongside Miranda Cosgrove. The show ran for six seasons until 2012, becoming one of Nickelodeon's most popular shows. McCurdy also released two albums during this time: Not That Far Away (2010) and Jennette McCurdy (2013). In 2013 McCurdy began starring with Ariana Grande in the spin-off sitcom Sam & Cat which ran until 2014.
McCurdy has also starred in several films such as What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), Let’s Go To Prison (2006) and Major Movie Star (2008). She also had a recurring role on Fox's Between from 2015 to 2016. In 2017 she appeared on Netflix's series Between Two Ferns: The Movie opposite Zach Galifianakis.
McCurdy has been nominated for numerous awards including two Kids' Choice Awards for Favorite TV Actress for iCarly (2012, 2013) and a People's Choice Award for Favorite TV Actress for Sam & Cat (2014).
