Barbara Eden was born on August 23, 1931 in Tucson, Arizona. She is an American actress, singer and comedienne best known for her role as "Jeannie" on the 1960s television sitcom I Dream of Jeannie. Her zodiac sign is Virgo. 

Eden's first acting job was in the movie Back from Eternity (1956), then she went on to appear in other movies such as The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm (1962) and Harper Valley PTA (1968). Her TV credits include roles on The Jack Benny Program, Wagon Train, 77 Sunset Strip and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. 

In 1965, Eden landed the role that would make her a household name: "Jeannie" on I Dream of Jeannie. Her portrayal of a beautiful genie with magical powers won her critical acclaim and an Emmy nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. After I Dream of Jeannie ended its run in 1970, Eden starred in several made-for-TV movies before taking a long break from acting. 

In 1986, she returned to television to star in the NBC sitcom Harper Valley PTA alongside Nanette Fabray and Ronnie Schell. She also appeared in various stage productions during this period. In 1993, she reprised her role as "Jeannie" for the NBC movie I Still Dream of Jeannie before appearing in numerous television films throughout the 1990s and 2000s. 

Most recently, Eden appeared with actor John Schneider in A Christmas Wedding Tail (2011) and provided voiceover work for Barbie: Life In The Dreamhouse (2012). She has been married four times and is currently married to Jon Eicholtz since 1991.
