Bella Thorne was born on October 8, 1997 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. She is of Cuban and Italian descent and has four siblings. Thorne's parents divorced when she was young and she was raised by her mother in Hollywood, Florida.

Thorne began acting at a very young age, appearing in commercials for companies like Toys 'R' Us and KFC. In 2003, she landed her first major role on the show Entourage as a guest star. The following year, she starred in the Disney Channel movie Stuck in the Suburbs alongside Danielle Panabaker. She then went on to star in several other Disney Channel shows including The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Sonny with a Chance and Shake It Up!.

In 2015, Thorne made her feature film debut in the horror-comedy film Alexander & The Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day. That same year she also released her debut novel titled Autumn Falls. In 2016, she appeared in the romantic drama Midnight Sun alongside Patrick Schwarzenegger and Rob Riggle.

Thorne has since gone on to appear in numerous films such as Amityville: Awakening (2017), Assassination Nation (2018) and I Still Believe (2020). She also had small roles in television series such as Scream (2016), Famous In Love (2017) and Big Sky (2021). Additionally, Thorne has also branched out into music releasing two albums entitled Call it Whatever (2014) and Jersey (2019).
