Shad Gregory Moss, better known by his stage name Bow Wow, is an American rapper and actor. His career began upon being discovered by rapper Snoop Dogg in the late 1990s, eventually being brought to record producer Jermaine Dupri and signed to So So Def Recordings.
Shad Gregory Moss, better known as Bow Wow, was born on March 9, 1987 in Columbus, Ohio. His zodiac sign is Pisces and his ethnicity is African-American. He is the son of Alfonso Preston Moss and Teresa Rena Caldwell and has two half brothers. At an early age, he developed an interest in rap music and began to record his own songs.
Bow Wow signed with So So Def Recordings at the young age of 13 and released his debut album “Beware of Dog” in 2000. The album was a commercial success and spawned the hit single “Bounce With Me” which reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2003, he released his second album “Doggy Bag” which contained the hit singles “Take Ya Home” and “My Baby”. In 2005, Bow Wow released his third studio album titled “Wanted” which featured collaborations with Omarion, Chris Brown and Snoop Dogg among others.
In 2004, Bow Wow made his acting debut in the film “Like Mike” alongside Lil' Romeo and Morris Chestnut. In 2006, he starred in the movie “The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift” alongside Lucas Black and Nathalie Kelley. From 2005-2006 he had a recurring role on the television series Entourage as himself, appearing in several episodes throughout those two seasons. He also voiced characters for various animated films including 2006's Ice Age: The Meltdown and 2010's Marmaduke.
Bow Wow went on to release four more albums between 2007-2009 before taking a break from music for a few years to focus on acting projects. In 2013 he returned to music with the release of Underrated, followed by Greenlight 5 in 2016 and Edicius in 2017. He is currently working on new music while continuing to pursue acting roles.
