Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio on March 10, 1994, is a Puerto Rican rapper and singer. He gained fame in the late 2010s as one of Latin trap's figureheads. Bad Bunny's music is heavily influenced by reggaeton and Latin American styles like bachata and salsa.

Before his music career took off, Bad Bunny worked as a supermarket cashier in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He began making music in 2016 and quickly rose to prominence with his debut single "Diles". The song was an instant hit and reached number two on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Airplay chart.

In 2017 he released his first full-length album X100PRE which peaked at number one on the US Latin Albums chart and earned him a Latin Grammy for Best Urban Music Album. Later that year, he collaborated with DJ Luian & Mambo Kings to produce "Soy Peor", which topped the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart for six weeks. 

Since then he has had numerous collaborations with artists such as J Balvin, Ozuna and Daddy Yankee, as well as releasing several solo singles including "I Like It" with Cardi B and "Mia" with Drake. He was also featured on the 2019 remix of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” alongside Diplo, Young Thug and Mason Ramsey. 

Bad Bunny continues to be an influential figure in Latin trap music whose songs have become popular around the world.
