Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr., known professionally as Busta Rhymes, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor. Chuck D of Public Enemy gave him the moniker Busta Rhymes, after NFL and CFL wide receiver George "Buster" Rhymes.
Trevor George Smith Jr., better known as Busta Rhymes, was born in May 20, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York City. He is an American rapper, singer, record producer, actor and songwriter. His zodiac sign is Taurus and his ethnicity is Jamaican-American.
Rhymes began rapping at age 11 after joining the group Leaders of the New School. He released his debut album The Coming in 1996 which included hit singles “Woo Hah!! Got You All In Check” and “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See”. He then released two albums Extinction Level Event (1998) and Anarchy (2000) that featured more of his popular singles including “What's It Gonna Be?!” featuring Janet Jackson and “Dangerous” with Rah Digga. His fourth studio album Genesis was released in 2001 and spawned several successful singles such as “Break Ya Neck” and “Pass the Courvoisier Part II” featuring P. Diddy.
In 2006, Rhymes released his sixth studio album The Big Bang which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album but lost to OutKast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. More recently he has collaborated with several artists including Mariah Carey, Akon, Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown. In addition to music, Rhymes has also appeared in films such as Shaft (2000), Finding Forrester (2000) and Hallow Man 2 (2002).
