Christina Applegate was born on November 25, 1971 in Hollywood, California. Her father, Robert William Applegate, is a record producer and musician and her mother, Nancy Lee Priddy, is an actress. She has two siblings: Alisa and Kyle. She attended the Las Encinas High School for Performing Arts and graduated with honors in 1989.

Applegate started acting at the age of three when she appeared in an episode of the “Rainbow” television show. She then moved on to appearing in commercials before landing a role as Kelly Bundy on the sitcom “Married...with Children” (1987-97). In 1993, she won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance on the show.

After “Married…with Children” ended, Applegate went on to appear in many films such as Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (1991), Mars Attacks! (1996), The Sweetest Thing (2002), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004) and its sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013). In 2005, she won a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for her role as Suzanne Wilkins on the television series “Samantha Who?” (2007-09).

In recent years, Applegate has starred in several movies such as Vacation (2015) and Bad Moms (2016). She also made guest appearances on shows like Friends (2001-02) and Up All Night (2011-12). Additionally, she has received critical acclaim for her performances on Broadway in productions such as Sweet Charity (2005) and Young Frankenstein (2007).
