Alyssa Jayne Milano was born on December 19, 1972, in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York City. She is the daughter of Italian-American parents Thomas and Lin Milano. Alyssa has two siblings: Cory and Brett. Her father was a film music editor and her mother worked as a fashion designer.

Alyssa started acting at the age of eight when she landed the role of Samantha in the Broadway production of “Annie”. She went on to appear in various television shows such as “Who's The Boss?” (1984-1992), “Charmed” (1998-2006) and “Melrose Place” (1997-1998). She also starred in films such as “Embrace Of The Vampire” (1995), “Fear” (1996) and “Hall Pass” (2011). In addition to her acting career, Milano has ventured into various business endeavors including forming her own entertainment company called "Touchstone King", releasing five studio albums between 1989 and 1993, launching her clothing line called "TILY" and appearing as a judge on NBC's talent show "America's Got Talent".

Milano has been involved in numerous charitable causes over the years. She has served as an ambassador for UNICEF since 2003 and has worked with organizations such as Save The Music Foundation, PETA, World Hunger Relief Fund and Global Green USA. In addition to this, she is an advocate for gun control and LGBT rights.
